Tempe Yarn & Fiber

This is a really cool place...  If they were closer I would be there all the time.  I will be attending a crochet clinic soon so I can learn all the terms in english...  My Mama spoke only Portuguese...

Using leather

I make myself a bag probably once a year....

I am currently using a wicker one, very African and roomy.  I usually remain attached to my "current" bag for a while.   But then a flicker of a new possibility appears.

This is by new to be "current bag"  I am using favorite fabrics, bright and happy for spring and Summer.  I am also using leather for the first time.  And I also learned how to do dividers by consulting this Amy Butler book.  It is a work in progress.

Coasters

Yet another new thing to try.

I was looking for a simple project for Grasshopper, she wanted to sell something at the Arts Jam.

I looked here...

and here...

and here...

And then, as I usually do, picked out my fabric and made my own pattern.

Joyful giddiness follows the end of a new project...  Grasshopper never did sew any coasters.  We'll have to find her another project.

Another Twist

I had not tried this before...

The little handle...

On the side.

And a bunch of pouches to sell at the Arts Jam.

Pouches with a twist

Sometimes I feel the need to mass produce.  I have been working on pouches.

I asked my friend Renee who makes beautiful jewelry to design charms that attach to the zipper.

She color coordinates with my pouches.

I am in love with these pretty little things.

Collaborating with a fellow artisan is enriching.  I shall show more detailed pictures of the charms once I get my camera groove back.

Happenings

I have been ordering fabric from my favorite place.

I have done some sewing but my camera is on its way to the repair shop so  - no evidence to show here.

I have done some organizing.

I have started reading outside again.

I have admired the sunsets.

I have hugged her.

And I have supervised this.  I have fond memories of outdoor play so when I feel inclined to go outside and watch the youngens play, I do.  Book in tow of course.

Possibilities

Every once in a while I come across a blog that is full of eye candy and great ideas.

Cluck Cluck Sew is a recently discovered one that I am having fun looking at.
I will mark this for inspiration.
