Fa la la la Felt

This book is quite inspirational for those of us who are fond of working with felt.

The Gingerbread House is more intricate than some of the other projects but I had to make a few.

My love for hand made ornaments grows.  They sit pretty on the tree and make me smile every time I see them.

Christmas Ornaments

These delicate and fun to make ornaments are found in Fa la la la Felt - 45 handmade holiday decorations. 

My crafty Grasshopper got into making these as well.  

A baby girl series

This will complete a basket for a silent auction.

I always enjoy playing around with the fabrics and finding groups that work together. I can safely say that is the most creative part of the project.

The quilt has a bag and a bear to complete the set.

Fernando

It feels I reached a plateau and level of bravery that compells me to finally materialize my visions.

With my felt basket handy, I chose the colors for Fernando, a portrait of a childhood friend.

I am so very happy to finally be able to do this.

He now resides in a prominent area where I am reminded of where I come from.

Hippity

Jenny has really interesting stuff on her blog and I took advantage of this offering and made us some bunnies.

Hers are small pins.

Mine are bigger. One of the reasons I do this sort of stuff is that I like going on trips down craft land and learn new skills. This time I learned how to do french knots.

Softies revisited

Originally designed to be a paperweight, it is now a decorative thingy.

You can add whatever shapes to it. I chose a heart.

I found a cool blog and saw some ideas for these pretty things to make for Christmas. I certainly need to practice that blanket stitch.

Snowden chose "The Lookout", minus the bird. I realize these young hands are learning something that can bring her pleasure fir a lifetime. She starts off slowly.

Bow Wow

The dog from the Softies book. I used materials that I had. The blue corduroy was leftover from a dress the grandma had made for Snowden when she was three. I thought it would be a nice way to preserve the memory.

I had to embroider the nose because I didn't have black felt.

Change Purse

The book is full of possibilities but I can't get around the functionality of things. So... I chose the change purse which can store anything small, really. Jewelry?

Easy peasy

I always liked working with felt. I'm ready to revisit this wonder material.

There are lots of cool and easy projects in this book. Trying to narrow it down to a few functional ones is the first step. I think I'll make some sachets or book covers.
