Change Purse

The book is full of possibilities but I can't get around the functionality of things. So... I chose the change purse which can store anything small, really. Jewelry?

I gathered my scattered buttons and picked one.
Front.

Back.

The one on the left is the photograph in the book.

Easy peasy

I always liked working with felt. I'm ready to revisit this wonder material.

There are lots of cool and easy projects in this book. Trying to narrow it down to a few functional ones is the first step. I think I'll make some sachets or book covers.

The bag lady

Grasshopper, my little bag lady, had to have a small bag, or smaller than the ones I have made. I used a piece of leftover fleece to make this one. The sewing machine lets me do some fancy stitching/embroidery, which I use in my bags but is hard to photograph.

Pant making 101

Snowden likes soft flannel pants. She asks me to make some... Uhmm... I have not made pants yet... But I won't say no. Alrighty then, off we go to JoAnne's with coupon in hand. And guess what? There was a sale on. Got this pattern for $1, and flannel for $2/yard.

The pants are almost ready. I need elastic. It turned out to be way easier than I thought. This is one more learned skill that I can cross out of my list of things I want to know how to do. I love it... I can make pants. :-)

The Button Scarf

I did it! The buttonhole feature on the sewing machine is superb.

I am so liking wearing these things I make.
When I have more time I'll post information on tutorials.

Needed supplies

JoAnn's is having a huge sale in honor of President's day and I stocked up. I love shopping for fabric. These have been hand wshed and are drying. Snowden wants a pair of PJs so I purchased patterns too. Five for $5.

My trusty sidekick

The pattern... In keeping it simple (and straight) as my crochet mantra goes, I follow this pattern, and keep making these... This one was a gift to a Red, White, and Blue lover.

I don't know how..

to do buttonholes.
Oh, Fairy Godmother of Sewingland... Wave your spool and help me discover the function of this thing:

  1. If all else fails I should probably read this, so I can finish my version of this.
