A little bit of this and a little bit of that

I'm a fan of letting pictures speak for themselves.

This one speaks to me.   I can look at each fabric piece and remember the story it tells.

I'm looking forward to trying new techniques on this quilt.  I tend to be afraid of the machine quilting part but I am going to be brave with this one.

What are you getting for Christmas?

Well, if you are my friend, it might be a scarf,

I learned a new pattern, and I am in the mass production stage. My fingers are going and going.

Other things

I have done some sewing but the yard needed attention.

Early Saturday mornings are best..., it gets very hot later.

The tree was fixed up a bit.

ASU Art Museum

This year's family day featured "What moves you".

The exhibits, and activities focused on transportation.  It made for a fun trip with the family.

The room with a view ...

Clouds.

I have projects to work on...  but I am enjoying the clouds instead... they are so rare in these parts.

Needle and Hook Organizer

Made for Mrs. Turner who has generously donated her time to teach young girls and boy how to knit.

It started as an after school class, and now we meet at a local indie bookstore.

Thank you Mrs. Turner.

Little Hands

Grasshopper is very observant and has learned basic quilting skills.

This is her handy work, something she can touch and carries around most days.  I am always amazed at what a 10 year old can learn when allowed to explore.  Unlike my childhood that was marked with lots of NOs, I encourage the love of learning and exploration, problem solving, and critical thinking, which are, by the way, the required markers of future success.
