Multitasking

Simply watching the Saints win the Superbowl was not enough.

I reviewed my Jan/Feb 2010 issue of Art Quilting Studio and carefully read the pieces featuring several artists.

I was intrigued by Frida on the cover and I had to see more... This may be the beginning os things to come from my studio...  Ok, not tomorrow, maybe in a few years.

A baby girl series

This will complete a basket for a silent auction.

I always enjoy playing around with the fabrics and finding groups that work together. I can safely say that is the most creative part of the project.

The quilt has a bag and a bear to complete the set.

Delicious softies

Snowden made a list of Softies she wanted me to make.  The two scoop ice cream came first.

And Grasshopper, in her I will not be left behind style, announced she wanted one scoop only.

They all have names.  I made some adjustments in the mouth and eyes.  We like friendly faces around these parts.

The two scooper is mint ice cream ...   see the chocolate chips all over?  We experiemented with the eyes.

But in an effort to prevent nightmares, the eyes were changed.

Things January

Fernando

It feels I reached a plateau and level of bravery that compells me to finally materialize my visions.

With my felt basket handy, I chose the colors for Fernando, a portrait of a childhood friend.

I am so very happy to finally be able to do this.

He now resides in a prominent area where I am reminded of where I come from.

Weekend Sewing

My quilts are finished.

Another pouch, this time using my strips of materials.

And another...

I like this weekend sewing I do.
