2 Square

Two square pillows done...

Grasshopper's.

Snowden's.

I can safely say I will make more until the novelty wears off.
I started the test ripple pattern. I will have to practice, practice, and practice. I understand half of it and will attempt the rest some other day when my eagerness level is very high.
I'm loving this. And ... Grasshopper is progressing in her crochet skill. She just needs to embrace the "work in progress" concept... :-)

A little bit square

Lucy at Attic24 has such lovely things that I find inspiring. I made this pillow, or what will become a pillow. I feel so accomplished.

I have my eye on this and already have the yarn. I probably have to try it on a small scale first. guess the teddy bears have a blankie coming.

Renmants

Today's trip to Joann was looking for the right material to make a liver with. Yes, Snowden is working on a science project of the digestive system.

We did find some cool remnants.

I wash them by hand and have them dry on a rack in the shower. I like having extra fabric available for those moments of spontaneous creativity.

Bloggers in a magazine

During a recent lunch break I stopped in Whole Foods and made my way to the book/magazine isle. I sat in a chair that seemed to await me and looked through some interesting looking magazines. This one caught my eye as it said "5 crafty mamas" on the cover.

I got a brain tickle and flipped fast through the pages til I found the article about the moms/bloggers we all know.

They are:

I have been inspired to teach my girls to embroider and remember the times my Mama taught me the ways of the needle and embroidery floss.

Gotta go explore the lovely sites above.

Lollipop Bags

Crocheting at the garden I love to photograph. The girls were inside for the music lesson.

Playing with new colors.

Mine and Grasshopper's.

That crochet basket makes its way into every room in the house. I look at it while I am in the office working.

Celebrating new life

It's Spring. In blog land, pictures of blooming flowers abound.
They lift the spirit. A tulip for Easter.

A wee one will enjoy this cuddly blanket designed by TJ.

I am having a lot of fun being more adventurous in my crochet projects. It helps to be inspired by Lucy of Attic24.

The Apron

The apron is a symbol of service, caring, and giving. As a fashion statement aprons reflect the essence of the one wearing it.

They remind me of my mother. As a wee one I always seemed to have one at eye level because she wore one at all times except on outings.
These are gifts to the women on the PTO board who worked hard all year to ensure the maintenance of its programs.

More goodies from fabric.com

I've been looking at materials for a quilt I am working on but this visit to fabric.com and that daily sale was primarily for a fix.

I looked for designers I have heard of and found some of Anna Maria Horner's materials on sale.

Now I will have to dream up projects for these lovelies.

Hippity

Jenny has really interesting stuff on her blog and I took advantage of this offering and made us some bunnies.
Hers are small pins.

Mine are bigger. One of the reasons I do this sort of stuff is that I like going on trips down craft land and learn new skills. This time I learned how to do french knots.

Pic-Nic/Reading Blanket

IKEA has really cool, soft, inexpensive blankets.

In my crochet frenzy, I had made pretty flowers and leaves.

I positioned then along the ends of said blanket and stitched them in place.

The pretty pic-nic/reading blanket goes inside the bag. The shower will be in a week or so and I am ready to send this beauty off to the soon to be momma.
