An act of Kindness

Sewing Project to help Foster Kids, is Adriane Grimaldi's endeavour to help foster children. She and her husband who are Scottsdale , AZ residents, have had two foster children arrive at their home with their personal belongings in trash bags. She says “I thought how traumatic is it that they are already being taken out of the home for whatever reason but to have personal things they treasure put in trash bags is also pretty bad.” She wondered why kid-friendly king-sized pillowcases with a simple drawstring closure or dufflebags couldn't be used instead?

She advertised in the Tribune recently and I jumped on board and will make 6 bags to start. The material was purchased at IKEA.

My 6 bags, almost finished. I now have to purchase string for the top.

AWANA gifts

Stick to what works is a motto, until one is ready for a new challenge. These are simply made with different types of fabric, yet the same as all the others I made.

Gifts for teachers

In three weeks the school year ends. That is a major event in families with school age children. Parties and presents of appreciation abound.
I chose a more grown up pattern in the fabric I will use for bags the yougens will give their teachers at the end of the school year.

The orange material is more polyester or something and is very slippery.

Three bags for three teachers.
